Makeba is a wife to her wonderful and supportive husband Courtney and the mother of two daughters. Makeba also has two granddaughters whom she affectionately calls her "sugababies".
Makeba has been a registered nurse since 1998. She works in Emergency Nursing. She has also provided nursing care to the Detroit, Michigan community as a homecare nurse for ten years. She also owns a small bisness, N THE KNOW, LLC, that teaches group home employees the safe way to pass medications. Makeba loves people and always tries to encourage people to love each other through real talk.
Makeba's love for writing began at an early age. She has always enjoyed writing short stories, poems and song lyrics. She just completed a writer's program through the Institute of Children's Literature and looks forward to writing for children. Makeba decided to write, "A White Woman's Guide," because she wants the women who read her book to be enlightened so the children will be better balanced in both of the cultures they are made of.
"It's a woman to woman conversation."
