It’s every girl’s dream to walk to down the aisle in a beautiful gown to her Prince Charming and for Kim, Amber, Stacy and Lisa this dream just doesn’t seem to be materializing.
Amber is a woman with everything going for her in her life except a man to share it with. She thinks she has found “Mr. Right” but when his promises of commitment seem to be held back by events in his life, Amber is forced to make a decision. Kim has dedicated her life to protecting her son even if it means sacrificing her own happiness. When she opens her heart to a secret admirer, her past comes crashing back, determined to destroy all that she’s built.
Done with her physically and verbally abusive baby daddy, “tomboy” Lisa gives in to temptation and finds herself in a whirlwind of life changing events. Lisa will ultimately have to choose between what her heart says or what her body wants. Stacy is a self-proclaimed gold digger and not ashamed of it. After years being the mistress to her "sugar daddy," Stacy begins to feel the burden and the loneliness of being "second choice." When she is faced with true love, will she walk away from the love of money or take a chance on true love?"
In the debut novel by E’nise these four women will be each other’s strength and backbone through all their tumultuous events. These ladies experience a whirlwind of emotions, when faced with failed relationships, unearthed secrets, domestic disputes and even attempted murder. They ultimately have to ask themselves, is the life they lead what they thought they wanted or what they really need? The walk down the aisle has never been this bumpy before. What I Thought I Wanted is an exciting novel that will prove to be a page turner.
